Emma Watson paints a clear vision of the future for the HeForShe Campaign

Every Monday we like to take a moment and celebrate those who are doing an amazing job of communicating, and today we are going to explore the "He For She" talk given by Emma Watson back in 2014. This is an excellent example of how to answer the question "Where are you going?".

In this speech at UN in 2014 Emma Watson has a clear vision for what HerForShe is and how you can join in creating the future vision she paints. This is what having a clear vision, the first of the three foundation pieces, can do for helping to achieve the global impact you desire.

She starts be clearly stating her goal, to end gender inequality. What makes this unique is that the focus on not just about empowering women, but more importantly empowering men to join in creating the change she envisions.

She stated the world she wants by starting these images with "I think it is right...". This start to each sentence catches the audience's attention and makes you focus on the picture of the future she is painting. Each description in these sentences paint a snapshot of what she thinks is the right future for those listening to her.

This is a very skillful way of helping her audience to picture her vision of the future and decide if they want to go to the same place she is going. And she is very strategic in making sure everyone listening knows she is talking to them as individuals and inviting them to help everyone get to the destination she has painted. When you have a clear vision and can get wanting to share in that vision you have successfully created the first of the foundational blocks to communication actually occurring.

I encourage you to listen closely to her talk and see how well her vision of the future resonates with you.

Is this a future you want?

Would you be willing to help join her in making it happen?
